I’ve put together a simple chart that explains the various ways you should and shouldn’t summon a waiter over to your table, and the service you’re likely to receive accordingly.

Because if one more middle aged, obnoxious asshole goes “hey you!” and snaps their fingers at me, I WILL snap said person’s neck.

I waitressed my way through college and one night this guy yells at me “Oi! you with the tits!” and my co-worker Matthew walked up to him and said “yes?”

Can someone please explain why being polite (excuse me) would warrant a fake smile?

Yeah, I kind of agree with this.  I’ve never been a waitress, so maybe it’s just that my personality type is different, but in retail, I always thought an excuse me was super polite.  It carries the whole implication that they know that you’re busy and are sorry for interrupting you.  I actually found it creepy when people addressed me by name *unless* they were regulars, because it implies a level of familiarity I’m uncomfortable with in strangers.  ^_^;

The worst methods of address, to me, were “Honey,” because I felt I was being talked down to due to my gender, and “You People,” which pretty much only gets said when someone is picking a fight.  In order to feel less guilty about the tirade they’re about to go on, they want to address you as a piece of a larger institution they feel is screwing them over, rather than as an individual who probably has nothing to do with their issue and will go in the bathroom and cry when they’re done ranting.

Shinji’s Scenarios montage

sass-master-stevens:

One of the ends of Shinji’s scenario in NGE2 is him defeating the Eva Series. The player then gets a montage of all the still frames from his route with an ep 26 style monologue over them.

I have no idea if the image order is random because let’s just say the images don’t really fit the heartfelt words.

image

"Precious things"

image

"Favorite things"

okay Shinji…

image

"Things I wanted to protect"

image

"Things that have changed me."

Misato’s ass again

image

"I knew pain…"

Action Gendo

image

Kaji in drag is included as “pain”

image

"But I love this world."

Glad cross dressing as his dead mother in a maid costume for an old man made him think positively about life.

Watch the full thing at the end of this

From Shinji’s Second Scenario - I Like This World Though - which is exclusive to the PSP Port (Evangelion 2 : Another Cases). This scenario is pretty much crack (unless you fail the scenario and get the bad ending, oh boy…)

I said “have a nice day!” to this old dude and apparently that’s not fucking good enough because he retrieved his wallet and from like a stack of 30 of these things pulled one out and gave it to me and said something like “I hope you reconsider your choices next time”

Yeah for anyone who doesn’t work retail, people really are this fucking entitled and condescending.

There are some local businesses here that actually teach you this in training, but it’s like, bitch, you don’t pay me enough to work at your goddamn grocery store to say “my pleasure” instead of “no problem.”
